“And he just passed out?” The purple unicorn asked.
“Yeah, he could barely get a word out!” Dash replied. “Must have fainted from seeing my awesome moves!”
Twilight rolled her eyes and continued examining the dragon on her table. “Well he definitely isn’t like any other dragon I’ve seen, certainly isn’t like Spike even though they are the same color.”
“And he doesn’t look like any dragons we saw in the dragon land, so what gives?”
“My hypothesis is that he is a unique dragon that merely hatched like this. Either way, I think we should get the Princess in on this. She may…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Twilight was interrupted by a knock at the door. Shortly later her assistant, Spike ran up the stairs and said “uh, Twilight, the Princess is here to see you.”
“She is?! But I hadn’t even sent her a letter yet!” she exclaimed.
“That’s because I knew he would be here.” A new voice stated, shortly revealed to belong to Princess Celestia.
After bowing Twilight asked “what do you mean? How did you know this dragon was going to be here?”
“He was brought here because of me. I had gotten word from an old friend of mine from another world. He is known as the Chronicler, and he…”
“Waitwaitwaitwait! You mean to tell me this dragon is from another world?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
“Yes, he is.” The Princess replied, slightly annoyed by the disturbance. “And he was in great danger and required some assistance, and I was the only one he could ask in such short notice. You see, this dragons name is Spyro, and he had just saved his world from destruction, but was about to sacrifice himself for it. The Chronicler simply asked that I pull him from danger once his goal was completed, however that meant bringing him to our world.”
“That’s why he looks so different.” Twilight stated. “Will you be able to send him back?”
“I can, but it will require his magic as well. He will need to recover his strength for a couple of days, I’m sure he has someone very dear to him he wishes to see again.”
As if on cue, the group turned their heads to Spyro upon hearing him groan. He slowly raised his head, and after clearing his eyes looked around the room. “Where am I?”
Princess Celestia walked up and softly said “you are safe my dear Spyro, the Chronicler requested that I save you.”
At first Spyro was shocked at seeing the strange white being in front of him, but shook it off and asked “where’s Cynder? Is she ok?”
“Yes, you got her out safely, and your world is going to be fine.”
With a sigh of relief he said “good, that’s all that matters.”
“No, what matters now is getting you back to her,” Celestia told him. “And I can do that for you; you only need to recover enough strength to help me.”
“You can do that for me?” he asked, and after a nod in reply said “I can’t thank you enough… who are you, exactly?”
“I am Princess Celestia, ruler of the land of Equestria.” She replied. “And this is Twilight Sparkle, whose home you currently reside in.”
The purple pony stepped forward and said “I have so many questions! What’s your world like? Are all of the dragons quadrupeds like you? Do you…”
“And I’m the one who saved you from falling.” Rainbow interrupted, flying in front of her friend.
“Right, I remember. Thank you… Rainbow Dash.”
“Please, Dash is just fine.”
“Thank you, Dash.”
Celestia stepped forward again and said “I must return to my castle, but I will be back in a couple of days to see if you have recovered enough. Until then, I want you to rest. I wouldn’t even leave the bed.”
“As you wish, Princess.” Spyro replied with nod of his head.
After returning the gesture, the Princess walked back down the stairs and out of the library, leaving Spyro alone with the two other ponies once more. The young dragon did as the princess suggested and went into a deep slumber. He was out before either of the two ponies could ask him anything.
“Guess he’s out again.” Dash stated.
“So it seems. Guess I’ll have to wait longer to do my tests on him.”
Rainbow rolled her eyes and said “I better get back to work; I’ll be back later to check on him.”
Twilight nodded in response and watched her friend zoom out of the open window, leaving a rainbow streak in her trail.
