Thank You
"Dang it!" Tundra growled as he entered his room. "Why did I have to open my fat mouth?! Why couldn't I just stay quiet?!"
The dragon jumped into his bed and buried his face into his pillow, growling more. He had just gotten home from hanging out with his best friend, Damian.  They had spent the day together at the Warfang pub and bar. Tundra wanted to cheer up his friend after spending Valentine's Day alone. After about an hour Damian started asking about a dragoness sitting not far from them. When Tundra saw her he said that he could do so much better.
"What are you talking about?!" Damian asked. "You don't even know who she is!"
"Yeah, but she does not look too good." Tundra replied. "You need to stop setting your standards so low."
To Tundra's surprise Damian slapped the back of his head, saying "I don't know how prince's like you think, but we normal dragons care more about what's on the inside! Looks do not matter to me!"
"Damian, I'm sorry." Tundra said while rubbing the back of his head.
"Whatever." Damian said while putting down some coins for his food. "Come find me when you grow a heart."
After watching his best friend leave angrily Tundra sighed before paying for his meal as well and heading home.
"If I had just used my head!" He exclaimed to himself.
Tundra raised his head when he heard a knock come from his door, hoping it was Damian. But, when the door opened he saw his mate Diamond.
"Hey cutie!" she exclaimed with a quick kiss to his cheek.
"Hey…" Tundra replied.
Diamond sensed something was wrong and asked "is something bothering you, Tundra?"
"I don't want to talk about it." He replied with a sigh.
She walked over and climbed into bed next to him before saying "come on, you can tell me anything, you know that."
"I do, but, this is something you should not bother yourself with."
"You know me Tundra, whenever you are hurting I always want to know what it is."
With a sigh Tundra said "very well, I'll tell you."
After telling Diamond all that happened at the pub she said "well, I can see why he is mad at you."
Tundra groaned and buried his face back into the pillow. "I regret ever saying that to him! I should have thought before saying it!"
"Well why don't you go apologize?" Diamond asked.
"I doubt he'd let me have the chance." He said. "He is really stubborn when he gets angry."
"Then do you want me to go talk to him?"
"Diamond, don't get yourself involved in someone else's fight. This is between me and Damian."
"Sometimes a third party has to be brought in to bring one back to his senses. I'll go talk to him and come right back." She said while climbing off the bed.
Tundra stayed where he laid and prayed that Damian would forgive him. Diamond left the house and walked through the streets of Warfang until she arrived at Damian's house. After she knocked she waited a few moments before seeing Damian swing the door open.
"… Diamond?" he asked confusedly.
"Hey Damian, how are you doing?" she replied.
"I've been better." He stated.
"I understand." Diamond said.
After a long and awkward pause Damian asked "what are you doing here?"
"Oh, well I was hoping to talk to you about Tundra." She answered.
"Oh, of course you are!" Damian exclaimed while shutting the door.
Diamond caught the door just before it closed and said "look, I know what he said was harsh and uncalled for, but he is truly sorry about it. When I got back from shopping he looked so depressed I hardly even recognized him!"
"I didn't recognize him either when he said those words. I always thought he was a nice guy."
"And he is, he just made a mistake. Everyone makes them! I'm sure you've said some things you shouldn't have said."
"None about a dragoness being ugly."
"Okay, but that is beside the point. The point is that everyone makes mistakes and has to deal with it. Listen,, I have known Tundra for a while, but not nearly as long as you. You are the greatest friend he ever had! He keeps telling me every day that he is thankful to have someone in his life like you. I've seen him crushed by losing someone once before, I do not wish to see it again.
"So please, Damian, give Tundra another chance, I know you want to."
Damian sighed before saying "I was always going to forgive him, I just wanted him to learn his lesson, and it seems he has. Tell him I'll stop by tomorrow, it's dark out and I am tired."
Diamond smiled and said "thank you Damian, this will mean so much to him!"
"No problem Diamond. See you tomorrow." Damian said while closing the door.
Diamond swiftly returned home to tell Tundra the wonderful news. Upon entering their room she saw him in the same place that she left him in.
"Tundra?" She asked in an attempt to get his attention.
"Hmm?" he replied.
"Tundra, he has forgiven you completely." She told him.
Tundra swiftly lifted his head up and looked at her. "He did?!" he asked. After getting a nod from her he said "thank the ancestors! I was afraid I lost him forever!"
"You know you wouldn't have. You two have been friends for far too long to let something stupid like this get in the way." She said while climbing into bed with him.
"I know, but I worry too much."
"I know you do." She said with a little giggle.
Tundra rolled his eyes and wrapped his paws around her, holding her close to him.
"You are truly a wonderful mate. What would I ever do without you?"
"Well, you would chase off your friends, make stupid decisions, be with…"
"Ok, I get it!" Tundra interrupted.
She giggled a bit before licking his cheek. "You would be just fine without me."
"No, I wouldn't be fine. I would feel empty inside without my angel there to fill it."
"Aww, that's so sweet of you!"
Tundra smiled and kissed her forehead before saying "I love you so much my beautiful Diamond."
"I love you too my handsome prince."
They shared one more kiss before falling asleep in each other's arms, never wanting to let go.
